About Rainbow Classroom Advocacy Fund
Karen Cahall has spent her 37 year career in education, believing that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and inspired in the classroom. After years of teaching and advocating for students, she recently founded The Rainbow Classroom Legal Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ educators, students, and allies that experience discrimination in Ohio public schools.
Karen steps onto the dance floor not as an expert dancer, but as a lifelong learner—embracing the challenge with the same courage and curiosity she has always encouraged in her students. Dancing in support of a meaningful cause, Karen is proud to combine passion, purpose, and a little bit of rhythm to make a difference beyond the classroom.
When she isn’t teaching or advocating, Karen enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with family, crocheting, cooking, and hiking. Thank you for supporting this event and the important work it represents.
The Rainbow Classroom Advocacy Fund's primary objective is to safeguard the rights of every student, educator, and ally who faces unfair treatment in the public school system for championing LGBTQ equality and inclusion. They provide legal information, advocacy support, public education, and—when possible—financial assistance to individuals navigating discrimination in public education.
